Who introduced the stupid tie to our world?

Who did it? And more important, why?  What is the purpose of wearing a tie? It is not comfortable at all, it is difficult to eat wearing it, you feel like chocking if you do certain movements and it does not even look good. It is just a piece of garment good for nothing. Maybe someone thought that it would be very funny to torture people but seriously why did that become part of a smart dress code? We always end up dipping in the soup with them and that is not very smart.

And that brings another question to my mind. Why smart and elegant clothes have always  to be so damn uncomfortable? I have never worn heels but believe me ladies it does not look comfortable from the outside. Not to mention how weird it looks when you have to run on them. I actually saw a girl twisting an ankle once. It is like wearing a suit. It is perfectly well designed to be annoying. You cannot wash them, they cannot be ironed either so you have to pay for that and if the situation requires to wear one you have to do it even if it is too hot even to go naked. I actually had to wear a suit once in the south of Spain at more than 40 Celsius.

And yet the  most comfortable clothes always get the worse reputation. What is wrong with the tracksuit? It is really comfortable, breathable and matches perfectly with runners that are comfortable too. But wear one in a date and you will be called a redneck, a hillbilly or a culchie - depending on the country -.

And leaving clothes aside. Why do men have to shave and women to paint their faces- the so-called make-up -. I do not know about the rest of you guys. But to me  it is a nuisance  if you have to do it in daily basis. I have done it maximum three times per week and I am really lucky I do not have to do it anymore. I just use a razor once per week and my lady is Ok with that. And I personally find more attractive a girl who uses no make up. Not to mention when girls overuse it. I am always afraid I would get stick to their faces if I get to close.

Then if course it is a matter of choice. I am not saying that any of these things are bad. It is all good if it makes you happy. But I would like the fashion to change and tracksuits and runners become the perfect attire for every occasion.

Being alone is not the same than being lonely

Being along is being with yourself. It means quality time that you spend thinking, pondering your options, discovering yourself. Being social, chatty and extrovert is a fabulous thing. It is really great. But being withdrawn, quiet and introvert is equally great. As long as you feel comfortable with yourself you do not have to be other thing than what you want to be. I am really surprised how many people do not feel good with themselves and feel like weirdos just because they are not very good at making conversation and are not great in social environments.I actually feel angry when I hear them saying they wish they were different.

Based on my personal experience I have to say that I often find introverts much more interesting once you get to know them. We are forced to believe that being the soul of the party and having loads of friends is what everyone wants. But it is not. Many people are happy on their own and feel comfortable with a closed circle of people. And that is great. I firmly believe that we all should start seeing that as a good thing. People who are like that and people who interact with people who are like that.

Fashion nowadays is like algebra. I just don't get it

I wanted to buy a pair of jeans the other day and believe it or not it was a really difficult task. I may be a bit old-fashion when it comes to clothes. To me clothes are just to cover yourself and protect your feet for whatever could be on the floor waiting for you. In fact, my friends give me the clothes that they do not use because they are out of fashion or a bit worn. I had not bough a pair of jeans for quite a long time and I hope I won't have to do it again. Seriously what is wrong with the designers?

I could not find a normal pair of jeans in the effing shop. Sorry "boutique". Now they come with holes!! And I am not talking about charity shops. I am talking about a 50/60 quids pair of jeans. Or with zippers. More zippers than Edward handsisers. Zippers on the front,back,sides...everywhere!!Well, I am not McGiver so I would probably won't need to hide so many things. They are also faded and even blurred. The thing that our mothers tried to prevent using good washing powder now it is in fashion. Like those shirts that were already creased.Well, at least those will save you to iron them. But the faded pans are mental Some of them were as if someone had sat on a wet painted bench and later put them there.

I ended up with a pair that seemed quite normal.  That's what I thought at least. What was my surprise when after the fifth step they felt down to my knees. I went back to the shop and try to exchange them. I assumed it was a flaw. It was my size and they were tight in the thighs so what else could be. Well, the lad in the shop explained to me that they were loose. Apparently, showing half of your ass crack is cool in 2015. It is not exclusive of kids who want to be rappers anymore. I took them and decide to wear a belt. I did not want to adventure in the selecting a piece of garment that I actually understand.

We are going through very strange times. If you think about it the clothes and haircuts that we wear in this very moment are the things that people will laugh at a few years ago. Imagine yourself ten years ago going with your jeans half way between your ankles and your knees. Not unless you wanted to go fishing or had to cross flooded street. Or the cardigans. Oh me Jesus! you feel like given the guy some spare change for a save hostel for the night. I think it is called to be a hipster or a hapster or something like that. It is basically to dress like a nerd although you probably never got the grades.

Anyway, I have already said to my family and friends to shoot me if they see me wearing yellow and pink striped jeans so I think I will be safe and I won't be a fashion victim. The only think I would really embrace if I see people wearing are slippers. I have always thought that we should wear them for social life too. They are so cozy.

Why should you leave your job and go travelling?

Why not? I mean, do you love your job?Do you have a project?A family? Something really important holding you back? If the answer is YES then you may better stay where you are enjoying all those things. But if the answer is NO and you are tired or your job or just not really satisfied with it or just bored of the monotony just do it.

Think about it. You will probably manage to get a similar job when you can back, right? And if the problem is the money then save money like crazy. If you do not earn that much then go to a country where you can earn well and save loads for a while. You do not really need that much to go for a year round the world. And you can always work during the trip.

Seriously it is not a difficult think to do. I have gone a few times for a few months and I got a job any time that I came back. Then you are in the same point that you left but with memories that will stay with you for live. Dive with sharks in The Philippines , claim stunning mountains in the Andes, lie on the beach in Thailand and cry in The Killing Fields in Cambodia. There are so many things to do and see in the world. And they are all at your reach if you want.

If you are worried about what might happen in the trip just don't. Nowadays traveling is so common that most countries are well prepared to received all types of travelers. Seriously, it is more likely to have a car accident than get involved in a serious mess while striding the world. Plus you have loads of information on the Internet to be prepared beforehand.

So do not hesitate and pack your bags. There is nothing better than the feeling of asking if today is Wednesday, being told that is Saturday and do not give a damn. Enjoy freedom while you can.

Dating is not what I used to know

Maybe because I have been out of the market for a while or because I am a dinosaur when it comes to technology and social media but I have got the feeling that dating is a different world nowadays. I remember it was an arduous endeavor in my times. First you had to choose your clothes, what means no holes in your jacket, no stupid t-shirts, shaving (it was before hipsters started walking around like hardcore farmers in the Far West) and tones of eau de cologne. Then you had to go with your mates for a few drinks before heading to the clubs and finally go and interact with people of the opposite sex. This ritual will have to take place a few times before someone will find you interesting enough to see your brilliant performance at 6 a.m after a good few drinks. And a few more before you actually find someone interested in getting to knowing you better that you feel the same way about.

Well, apparently that is not happening anymore. Now all you have to do is going to the Internet and create a profile in one of these dating sites. And I am not talking about these chats that existed ten years ago where desperate people used to call themselves Hector McMillan and pretend to be a prosperous stock broker who did not have time to date in the real world. They normally ended up with a girl called Jenny who in the first video chat masturbated his penis in front of your very eyes before you could close the window. These sites nowadays are amazing. I happen to know a few people using one in which you can create a detailed profile linked to your Facebook. You can write about yourself and specify what you are looking for. you can actually pass with your finger girl after girl and select in the system as many as you want. And now the best part. If you are selected but any of them you will receive a message in your phone! So you do not have to face the rejection in your face. And the number of people in these sites are apparently unlimited. You can expend the whole day selecting candidates.

This is sheer madness. And you can also set up the application to find people at a certain distance. I have heard that people go to pubs and set the radar to meters so that it will show the people around you who are single and ready for battle. This is the best thing I have ever heard of. The odds of finding a person or just getting laid are much better. It may have a downside though. It may be the end of the anecdotes about night outs and embarrassing seduction attempts. It may happen that we are gonna lose the instinct of wooing, mating. We could end up selecting our partners based on a selection made by a computer. It seems the way to go now. I do not really now if this is a good or a bad thing. Time will shed light on the matter I guess.
