If you eat shit you feel like shit. As simple as that.

In the past few months I have been really down. Everything was bad. Especially at work was very difficult to bear the days. I was very much pessimistic that I I am normally and I was always looking at things from the wrong angle. Getting pissed for every insignificant thing and hating the world. The funny thing is that I am not like that at all. I thought it was all stress because I was going to have a son soon. But I could not imagine the effect that food was having on me. You always hear that we are what we eat but I could not imagine the impact that junk food was having on me. I was on 3 or 4 chocolate bars per day and most days also a dessert. I was feeling heavy, anxious and always in a bad mood.

I am now much more concerned about what I eat. Some of the products are advertised as low in fat but what they do not tell you is that this fat has been substituted by sugar. And the sugar - Oh good Lord - is a killer. It gives you a quick boost but once you are used to it then you crave for it like Dracula craves for blood. This revelation is now a big problem for me because I am a big lover of food. I am going to start cutting on sweets and crisps (thanks God I am not into fizzy drinks). A treat from time to time is all good but eating all this sugar was insane and cannot continue. Once I am Ok with that I'll try to trim the fat but eating less meet and more fish. And definitely get to know a bit better our forsaken friend the veggies.

Eating healthy, doing some sports and keeping a good state of mind is key for a healthy life. We all know that and yet we tend to think that it could be an exaggeration. That all these things are important but also now are a new trend and therefore a bit overrated. Well, let me tell you that now that I have left all these unhealthy habits before I feel much better and full of energy. I strongly recommend and encourage anyone who may identify himself in these lines to change these horrific habits now. It is a bit difficult in the beginning as you may suffer from a withdrawal syndrome for all the sugar consumed but the results show almost immediately giving way to a better and healthier life.
